ROBIN SEGERS WINS YOUNG METAL AWARD

Red line
Young Metal Award

September 20th 2021, Krimpen aan de Lek

Robin Segers, who works at Stinis, won the Young Metal Award. This prize is intended for up-and-coming talent (max. 25 years) who, despite their early career in the sector, shows a remarkable drive and know-how. It is not necessary to be specifically active as a technician for this Award, managers and other specialists are also eligible for this Award.

The now 23-year-old Robin Seegers was commissioned in 2019 to realize the implementation of Shop Floor Control. A project that has been implemented company-wide to digitize and streamline work processes. Computers have been installed at the workplaces in the construction that have replaced the paper files. In a department where the aging population is high, Robin has succeeded in teaching the people modern technology with his enthusiastic attitude. The use of paper has been reduced considerably and the people on the shop floor now receive their drawings and production files digitally on large screens.

Robin has made great strides in the past 2 years and, despite his young age, managed to create support and to be fully accepted in his leading role of the department. The older guard may have been a bit skeptical at first, but Robin is now loved by everyone and they don’t want to be without him. Due to his positive attitude, energy and open attitude, this has been a natural process. Half of the results of the jury determined the winner, the votes of the public the other half.
