PERSONAL
When you join Stinis as a customer, an employee or a supplier, you join our family. It means we build a long-term partnership based on trust and friendship, because our company and family reputation are inseparable. We will go to extremes when we design and build custom products for you. We are devoted to giving you a bespoke product that we can all be proud of. That’s why our name is on your spreaders.
DEDICATED
What matters to us, is that we do things the right way for you. We focus our experience and expertise on those areas that are most vital to terminal operators and shipping lines, such as safety and efficiency. This why we chose to develop the patented Autotwist spreader and the Double-Collar twistlock, as well as the Stinis Long-Twin spreader and the Stinis Split-Headblock. Our materials are always top-of-the-line and handpicked to ensure that they stand up to the harsh conditions on the quay side.
RESPONSIBLE
Everybody makes mistakes and we are no exception. When a problem occurs, we take our responsibility and work towards a solution. We don’t waste time finger pointing, but make sure we learn from our mistakes. We also take our responsibility in design quality, material selection and finishing. We hold ourselves accountable for operating sustainably within our communities. Good relationships with neighbors, ethical treatment of employees and an ongoing commitment to treat the environment with respect are all important parts of our social responsibilities.

OUR ORGANISATION
Stinis has two business units and a holding company. Each business unit covers a different region. Terminal operators and shipping lines based in the Americas, Europe and the Middle East are serviced by Stinis Holland. Businesses in Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand are supported by Stinis Asia Pacific. Both business units have state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and use a global network of representatives to provide dedicated on-site support.
Stinis Holland is based in Krimpen aan de Lek in The Netherlands. Stinis Asia Pacific’s sales office is headquartered in Singapore and its production and service facility is based in Johor, Malaysia. An additional service point is located in Shanghai, China.
The holding company sets the strategic course for the group and decides upon global Stinis policy designed to foster efficiency, consistency and cooperation. Research & Development, Engineering, Quality Control, Finance and Marketing are all handled by the holding company.

OUR ROOTS
In 1830 Arie Stinis founded his smithy, making horse shoes and skates for the community of Krimpen aan de Lek. As the company passed from father to son for five generations, its focus shifted from general blacksmithing to specialized engineering of marine lifting equipment to better service the nearby Port of Rotterdam.
In 1967, Stinis unloaded the first iron box in Rotterdam – a huge milestone. This historic moment was greeted by a new generation of leadership: Kees Stinis. His inventions are what allowed the company to evolve into a specialized developer of container lifting equipment.
Read MoreThe demand for spreaders increased as container ports evolved. In response, Stinis launched a number of patented innovations. The single telescopic beam, the ultra-powerful flipper actuator and the Double-Collar twistlock made their appearance. We received international recognition with the introduction of the Stinis Long-Twin in 1996. The Stinis Long-Twin makes it possible to create a 1600 mm distance between two 20’ containers. It has changed terminal activities worldwide. Today the Long-Twin is still the standard for Ship to Shore operations.
In 2001, we introduced the Stinis Split-Headblock. This patented innovation significantly increased quay side productivity. By replacing the conventional headblock of a single hoist crane, the Stinis Split-Headblock can lift up to four 20’ containers simultaneously.
Our company continued to experience unprecedented growth due to global trade and successful innovations. We expanded our production facility in The Netherlands in 1997 and 2005.
In 2008 production expanded from Singapore to Malaysia. An intensive knowledge transfer program followed to jumpstart the production of telescopic spreaders in our new state of the art facility in 2013. This process laid the foundation for new growth, just in time for the daughters of Kees Stinis to step up and take on duties in the company. Together with their father they make sure that Stinis is ready for the next step into the future.
