Spreader Repair & Overhaul Services

Red line

Container spreaders operate in demanding environments and are subject to continuous wear and tear. After a certain number of operating hours or twistlock cycles, maintenance and repair become essential to ensure safe, reliable and efficient performance.

At Stinis, every repair project begins with a comprehensive inspection. Based on the inspection results, we prepare a detailed maintenance and repair proposal tailored to the condition of the spreader. Repairs can be carried out either at the customer’s terminal or in our dedicated repair facility in the Netherlands.

Our goal is simple: to return your spreader to optimal operating condition while minimizing the risk of future failures and unplanned downtime.

Comprehensive Inspection and Assessment

Before any maintenance or repair work is performed, our technicians conduct a thorough pre-inspection. During this process, all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and functional systems are carefully examined to determine their condition and operational suitability.

Once the agreed work has been completed, a final inspection is carried out to verify that the spreader meets all performance and safety requirements. For spreaders repaired at the Stinis workshop, an extensive endurance test is typically conducted before delivery.

  • Inspection of left and right beam structures
  • Examination of electrical and hydraulic systems throughout the spreader
  • Inspection and testing of LED indication units
  • Inspection of left and right twin-lift units
  • Inspection of the hydraulic power pack
  • Verification of lubrication systems, grease dispensers and mechanical components
  • Inspection of the E1 electrical control box and associated components
  • Functional testing of all single and twin-lift operating modes
  • Measurement of hydraulic pump high and low pressure performance
  • Measurement of electrical current consumption under operating conditions

Repair Proposal and Execution

After the inspection has been successfully completed, Stinis prepares a detailed cost overview and scope of work. This proposal outlines all recommended repairs, component replacements and maintenance activities required to restore the spreader to peak condition.

  • On-site repair and maintenance at the terminal
  • Workshop repair and overhaul at the Stinis repair facility in the Netherlands

Once approved, all agreed work is carried out by experienced Stinis technicians using original parts and proven repair procedures.
